Support for mother with end stage renal disease
Donation protected
Hello to all wonderful and generous people of
Gofundme.
My name is Veronika Montgomery, and my message to you is a desperate move. A year ago, I would not have believed that I would have to ask for this in public.
I turned 39 just yesterday. Last year gave me a wonderful daughter, Evianna, now she is 6 months old. All my life I have dreamed about having a kid. But unfortunately, the day when I gave birth to her turned out to be the most happiest and the most traumatic in my life.
Being a perfectly healthy woman with a completely normal pregnancy, I arrived to a hospital for a scheduled caesarean section. The c-section itself was quick and easy. But after that, I started to lose blood. I bled for about 4 hours before being taken to the operating room. After the operation, I found out that I had lost almost all the blood, about 4 liters, I was transfused with 20 units of blood, I underwent a hysterectomy (unfortunately I won’t be able to have children anymore), my heart survived but suffered a lot - I’ve got heart failure, but the worst thing happened to my absolutely healthy before kidneys - they are damaged permanently. My diagnosis is end stage renal disease. That means my sentence is hemodialysis for life or a kidney transplant, which will take about 5-7 years on the list.
My life in one day became a nightmare.
Three times a week I have to leave my 6 month old and drive to the machine for 3-4 hours which cleans my blood (otherwise I won't be able to live). This machine takes away the last strength, and I still need to take care of the baby after.
The life has become a constant struggle, it is very hard physically and emotionally, but I have to be strong for my little daughter.
I will appreciate any financial help, it’s hard to survive having a little child and dealing with so severe health issues.
But my main wish and approach is - I'm looking for a real hero, a person who can donate one of the precious things -
a kidney. I know that not everyone can do that. But I decided to try. A donor can be a person of any race, gender, age (but preferably closer to mine), but the blood type must be O+. Unfortunately, people with this blood type have the longest waiting list for a kidney.
My mother wants to be a donor, but she has group A and is 70 years old.
The life expectancy of a person with one kidney is no different from the life expectancy of a person with 2. It has been proven and there is a lot of information about it. And yet, not everyone will decide on this, and I understand this.
Thanks for listening to my story. I will be extremely happy if I find my hero and savior in this way and will greatly appreciate any financial support and sharing of my story ❤️
Love and health to all of you!
