Help for the funeral of Nepali Student Muna Pandey, 21 who was shot to death in her Houston apartment

We come to you with heavy hearts to share the tragic and untimely passing of Muna Pandey, a 21-year-old Nepali student from Nepal, who was shot to death in her Houston apartment. Muna, a bright and dedicated student at Houston Community College, was full of dreams and aspirations. She moved to Houston in 2021, leaving behind her only family—her beloved mother, Anita, in Nepal. Muna was Anita’s only child, and the two shared an unbreakable bond.

On Monday evening, Muna’s lifeless body was discovered in her apartment by the Houston Police Department. Her mother, who had been desperately trying to reach her, was met with the devastating news that no parent should ever have to hear. The investigation is ongoing, and the community is hopeful that justice will be served. However, the pain of this loss is immeasurable, and her mother, Anita, is left shattered and alone in Nepal, unable to be with her daughter in her final moments.

We are reaching out to you, our community, to help bring Anita to the United States so she can say goodbye to her only child and give Muna the farewell she deserves. The funds raised will be used to cover the costs of Muna's funeral and to bring her mother to Houston to be with her daughter's body for the final rituals.

This is a time of unimaginable grief for Anita, and as a community, we want to surround her with love and support. No mother should have to face such heartbreak, especially from so far away. अगष्ट २४ शनिबार ह्यूष्टन टेक्सास स्थित आफ्नै अपार्टटमेन्टमा गोली हानि हत्या गरिएकी २१ बर्षिय मुना पाण्डेको हत्याको घटनाले पुरै समाज मर्माहित भएका छौं ।

आमासंग ४ दिन देखी सम्पर्क बिहीन भएकी मुनाको शब आफ्नै ओछ्यानमा घोप्टो परेको अवश्थामा प्रहरीले फेला पारेको थियो । उनको छातीमा गोली लागेको र उनको ओछ्यानभरी रगत लागेको थियो ।

पाण्डेको अन्तिम संस्कार र उनकी एकल आमा अनिता अधिकारीलाई छोरीको अन्तिम संस्कारमा अमेरिका आउने र जाने खर्चको ब्यवस्थापनका लागि गो फण्ड खोलिएको हो । पाण्डे ३ बर्ष अघि अमेरिका आएर ह्यूष्टनको कम्युनिटि कलेजमा एसोसिएट नर्सिगं पढिरहेकी उनी यो बर्षको डिसेम्बरमा दिक्षित हुने थिईन् ।

परिवारकी एउटी छोरी मुना पढ्न मिहेनती र एकदमै सहयोगी स्वाभाबकी थिईन् । मिठो र नम्र स्वाभाबकी भबिष्य प्रति आशा बोकेकी थिईन् । पढाई सकेर आमालाई अमेरिका घुम्न बोलाउने सपना देखेकी उनकी आमा तिनै छोरीको अन्तिम संस्कारका लागि अमेरिका आउनु पर्ने अवश्था छ । एक्ली छोरीको हत्याको खबरले मर्माहत भएकी पाण्डेकी आमा छोरीको अन्तिम पटक अनुहार हेर्न आउने तयारी गर्दै हुनुहुन्छ ।

कमजोर आर्थिक अवश्था भएकी आमा आफ्नो खर्चमा आउने अवश्था छैन । तपाई हाम्रो सहयोगबाट मात्र यो सम्भब छ । सहयोगी सबैलाई यो खातामा सकेको सहयोग गरिदिनु हुन हार्दिक अपिल गर्दछौं ।

अन्त्यमा खर्चगरि वाकीभएको रकम मुना पांडेको आमा अनिता अधिकारीलाई हस्तान्तरण गरिने छ | Thank you !!
