Support for my grandmother Foumiko after Palisades fire

My 94-year old grandmother lost her home in the palisades fire. My grandmother, Foumiko Kometani has lived in the palisades for over 50 years. She has been living alone on El Medio until the fire tragically destroyed her home after burning through ours. Thankfully we were able to get her to safety during our evacuation, however, she didn’t understand what was going on and wasn’t able to grab anything from her home. Foumi moved from Japan in 1960 to pursue her career as a Painter and Writer. Sadly, with her home went her life’s work—all her paintings and books. As we figure out how to go forward, anything helps and no donation is too small.

We are so grateful to be safe with our animals and hope everyone going through similar circumstances is processing with their loved ones. We are in this together and we will be okay.
