Mousharaka - Sharing your resources to support people in Lebanon during its current crisis.
This campaign started in March 2020 in light of the current corona and economic crisis in Lebanon when many people in Lebanon have lost their job or did not get paid temporarily. It started as a personal initiative of a group of people with the aim to support unemployed migrant workers, refugees and Lebanese families in need who were hit hard by the economic crisis and the COVID-19 prevention measures. In the first four months of this campaign we supported more than a thousand people with food, cleaning material (soap, sanitizers, mask etc.), medication as well as financial support for rent and medical care.
The need to support people in need became even stronger after the explosion on August 4th that hit the port of Beirut. Currently, we are fundraising for those people who lost their homes (and need food, reparation, temporary homes etc.) or those injured or sick that are in need of medical care of any kind. Lebanon has been through a lot in these last couple of months and the future does not look bright. As a group we strongly feel that one current lesson from these multiple crisis is that we need to share with each other: share our resources, knowledge, our money and our compassion. Share in order to make it a bit more bearable and to sustain a little bit of hope in these sad times.
