Support for our amazing Alana Donovan

Hi I’m Ang and I am lucky enough to have the pleasure of working with Alana at Words on Wood. If you have shopped with us over the last year, chances are you have chatted with Alana - she is a chatty one!! She is unbreakably cheerful and genuinely cares about everyone she comes into contact with, taking an active interest in all of our shoppers!

In 2020, Alana was devastatingly diagnosed with stage 4 incurable melanoma cancer with metastasis to the brain. She was a newlywed and was told she’d only have a year to live. But three years later, our girl is still fighting! She meets each new challenge with positivity and optimism and I’ve literally never heard her complain, despite everything that’s been thrown at her. She’s never even called in sick! She is unstoppable.

It is with tremendous sadness that we have learned that Alana’s treatment is no longer succeeding at keeping her tumour growth minimized. Alana was very hesitant to let me set this Go Fund Me up for her, but she deserves any help she can get. I would love for Alana and her husband, Mitch, to enjoy some time together, enjoying life, without worrying about finances. Hospital parking, gas, medications, time off work, etc. all adds up tremendously. If you know Alana, I’m sure that you will agree that she deserves our help. I’m certain there is not much she wouldn’t do if called upon to help someone else. Let’s show her our love and support in return.
