Support for our friend, Griffin Snyder

On November 16th, 2023, Griffin Snyder was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare bone cancer that developed in his left ankle and recently spread to his lungs. Griffin is a senior at the University of Tennessee majoring in sports management and is a member of the Kappa Tau chapter of Phi Gamma Delta. As baseball is his passion, Griffin has worked as a sales intern for the Tennessee Smokies, the Double-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. After graduating from UT, he hopes to pursue a career in Major League Baseball.

On November 27th, Griffin went back to his hometown of Gaithersburg, Maryland to begin his chemotherapy treatment at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC. This is a 30 week process that consists of 10 weeks of chemotherapy, surgery, followed by 20 more weeks of chemotherapy. Due to the nature of his cancer, Griffin’s treatment is the most intense form of chemotherapy which requires him to stay at the hospital for multiple days at a time. Despite this, Griffin has kept a positive attitude throughout this whole process that we all admire.

As Griffin’s best friends, we decided to start this GoFoundMe to support him and his family as well as osteosarcoma research. With only 1,000 cases per year, doctors are still learning more about this cancer every day. We have decided to donate 50% of the proceeds to osteosarcoma research and 50% to Griffin and his family.
