Support for our friends on the Kokoda Track

Donation protected
People all over the world are feeling the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Those of us in Australia are lucky to have the JobKeeper and JobSeeker schemes, but unfortunately, our crew in PNG are less fortunate and are struggling with the loss of income from travel bans.

The primary source of income for the families along the Kokoda Track is tourism - trekkers buying bilums and hats and trekking companies like us paying campground fees, buying local produce from the gardens, and employing locals as personal guides and crew members.

With no trekkers coming over the track, the families along the Kokoda Track have been surviving on the produce from their gardens, like corn, sweet potatoes, peanuts, tomatoes and other fruits & vegetables. What they don't have are staples like flour, sugar, rice and other household products, like steel wool and soap for cleaning.

We are raising funds to provide care packages made up of these items to our Kokoda crew members and their families, and for wider support for all families along the Kokoda Track (in conjunction with the Kokoda Tour Operators Association).

We understand this is a hard time for everyone, but every donation counts.

Thank you for your ongoing support!
