Support for Owen Gibbons and Family
Donation protected
Update on January 26th: It has been two months since Owen has been home and we continue to be amazed by his optimism and work ethic. Owen is determined to get back as much function as possible. Owen’s therapy regimen includes occupational, physical and speech therapy twice a week at The University of Michigan. He has 6 additional hours of strength training and physical therapy at Pryde Athletics and 2 hours of standing with nobullshitrehab. While progress is slow with spinal cord injuries, we are extremely encouraged that Owen is getting muscle activation and movement below the level of his injury. With God all things are possible.
Owen also return to school full time and loves being back to attend games and dances and hanging out with his friends. This past Sunday Owen was shocked and thrilled to receive an invitation from Aiden Hutchingson to attend the Lions Playoff game.
It is hard to find the right words to express the gratitude we feel for the love, support and encouragement that we receive on a daily basis. For all that you have done, big or small, we thank you - Owen thanks you.
Please continue to prayer for Owen. May God bless and heal Owen.
Update on August 27th:

Owen still has a long recovery road ahead of him but because of all of your love, support and prayers, he’s making tremendous progress! The Gibbons family would like to thank everybody for all they have done and ask for you to continue your prayers, so that God may heal their son, Owen.

Update on August 6th:
Owen had surgery to remove ECMO on Saturday August 5th. While he is still on a ventilator, his lungs continue to improve and Owen is working hard to breathe on his own. Huge shout out to Mott Children’s Hospital for taking such great care of Owen! The Gibbon’s Family are truly overcome by all of the love, support and prayers they have received. We will continue to update as Owen progresses and ask for your continued thoughts and prayers. God Bless you and Gob Bless and heal Owen.

Update on July 28th:
Owen is back in Michigan. Though he is still on ECMO and intubated, he was stable enough to make the transfer. Huge thank you to U of M Survival Flight Team for making this possible. Owen spent the last two weeks at Norton’s Children’s Hospital working hard to clear his lungs of infections. Owen’s next goal is to come off ECMO once his lungs are strong enough to work on their own. We ask for continued prayers! The Gibbons Family are so incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support from the entire community. It continues to give the strength to face the challenges ahead. Thank you and God continue to Bless and heal Owen. #owenstrong
Update on July 14th:
Thank you to everyone that has prayed, donated, and supported Owen and his family during this difficult time. It is truly appreciated! Please continue to keep Owen in your prayers as he continues this fight. Owen is currently on ECMO at Norton’s Children’s Hospital while his lungs heal from infection and spinal shock. We do not know how long this may take but Owen knows you are all with him in this battle. May God heal him quickly. #owenstrong
On July 4th, Owen Gibbons was involved in a swimming accident that resulted in a spinal cord injury. While there are many unknowns, we do know that Owen has a long recovery ahead of him that his family and friends are ready to help him tackle. Since so many have asked if they can do something, we are starting this page to help raise funds for anything Owen needs that may not be covered by insurance. Thank you all for your continued prayers and support! #OwenStrong
