Support for Parker Curran

Please join us in rallying support for the Curran Family: Parker, Christie, Pat and McKenzie who have been living through a traumatic and heartbreaking reality.
Our nephew Parker, has a severe form of autism. In the last few years, Parker's behaviours have devolved and his outbursts have become violent and unstable at home, school and in the community.
Devastatingly, this has resulted in him being taken into police custody in an effort to protect him and his family. His family have tried every resource, every psycho-educational support and are exhausting their financial options to take care of Parker safely. In the hardest decision of the lives, they had to admit Parker into the local Psychiatric ICU in a desperate attempt to protect him and their family.
Parker has be warehoused in a PICU for over 6 months in lock down alongside some of the most violent mentally ill patients. He is in a single locked room without programming, minimal social interaction and goes long periods without talking. His health and wellbeing are deteriorating. He is losing weight and he does not understand what is happening.
Parker is not mentally ill and deserves a long term health facility where he can thrive and be safe.
He requires 2 highly skilled social support workers to keep him going in hospital. My sister and her family have lost wages to care for Parker in hospital and have exhausted leaves from work to care for him. They are in a precarious position and deserve to focus solely on advocating and caring for their son in crisis.
Please share this to shine a light on the absolute failings of provincial government to provide timely supports for adults with disabilities in crises and if you can, please consider donating to help ease the burden of this nightmare.
Please help us support this beautiful boy and his family.
