Support for Pat and Dave
Pat was taken into hospital in Arecife in Lanzarote at the beginning of January with COVID.
Pat has lived in Lanzarote for several years with Dave after I’ll health and financial issues meant they needed somewhere more relaxed and warm as they got older.
They have worked hard to get a small business going and have lots of friends both in Lanzarote and the U.K.
Since the 7th January Pat has been in a coma and on a ventilator. After a roller coaster of single daily updates, We were told to expect the very worst but she is fighting with everything she has.
Their daughter had tried to get over to see them for over a year but currently they haven’t seen their family since Pat visited just before the pandemic hit.
We really thought it was safest for Pat to stay on the Island as the virus figures were so low it was the safest place for her:
Pat and Dave have already struggled all through 2020 due to their business being hit hard with the COVID restrictions which began on Pat’s 65th Birthday 14th March 2020.
They have clung onto their business (and their home which is rented as part of it) but with Pat fighting for her life and Dave having to manage without his family who cannot get permission to travel, the business isn’t likely to recover for months. (If at all)
They have never asked for handouts but some of their friends, family and customers have asked if they can send a card or flowers.
If you would like to and are able to send a small donation it will make a huge difference to Pat and Dave.
Thank you for your support.
Paula, Donna and Simon
(their children currently not able to get over to Lanzarote)
