Support for Praise's Family After Her Sudden Loss

Donation protected
Dear loving family, friends, and community,

We have just lost our beloved child, Praise, on March 11, 2025, just a month shy of her second birthday. This sudden loss has opened up a chasm of grief for our families as well as the extended family throughout Brooklyn and beyond, who knew and loved her in her short time with us. Words just cannot express, but I will try on behalf of her mother Nancy, my niece, and her father Stan, my nephew-in-law. In their time of grief, shock, and devastation, this memorial page will be a link to the wider community so we all can be together in spirit and show support during this unimaginably difficult time.

Praise, who was shy of her second birthday in April, would've really enjoyed celebrating, dancing, grabbing the karaoke mic, and all around goofing off with her cousins, aunties, uncles, godmother, godfather, and the whole community of fans. For the little toddler that could, she instinctively knew how to hold a football (to her dad's delight) while not really throwing it straight but down to the ground (to her mom's delight but her dad's chagrin). She had a calm demeanor about her like she was an old soul inside a little body and observed naturally to know and show kindness to people around her. She somehow figured out how to climb out of her big girl bed; after a day of getting stuck while climbing out, she figured out how to put a cushion beneath to step off to the ground, so smart. We will always cherish these memories of her for years to come.

As this was so sudden, a life taken too soon, we are still in the process of making arrangements while still dealing with all the details and expenses that no doubt will be a burden on the parents while they are trying to cope with this tragedy. On behalf of Praise's grieving parents and all our relations, we are asking for your financial support to cover unexpected expenses surrounding her loss (emergency/medical services, final arrangements, church service, and memorial gathering) and the fundraiser total is still an estimate.

I know that both Nancy and Stan are much loved within their own communities and each of our own extended family members are also looking for ways to show their love for Praise and support her parents. In lieu of flowers, we are asking for your financial support to help them through this burden so they can be within their grief and remembrance of their beautiful, kind, smart, goofy, athletic, and most loving baby girl. Both Nancy and Stan worked hard to provide for Praise, both holding down more than one job but also making time for being with her when they could. These unexpected expenses to have their baby girl cared for in the final arrangements will surely add to their debt burden and we are reaching out to you to lend a hand.

On behalf of Nancy, Stan, and our extended families, we are deeply grateful to each of you for any financial support within your own abilities. As Praise somehow learned to say on her own, "appreciate you!"

P.S. On the donation page, please slide the tip to 0% as the GoFundMe tip is optional. If you would like to offer brief words of support after your donation, please see your emailed receipt at the bottom for "Increase your impact You still have a chance to show your support: Add a comment" This link will take you to the edit field but there is a limit likely two sentences that they will display.
