Support for Randy Bowlings Memorial Service
Donation protected
As most know my dad, Randy “Bug” Bowling, 53, of Ashville, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, June 5,2024 due to complications from his 2 year long battle with systolic heart disease. While we were able to cover the majority of dads medical care expenses throughout his illness, we’re having a difficult time coming up with the funds for covering his funeral. Dad did not have life insurance and has been disabled since his health declined 2 years ago. His wife of 31 years, Debra, has been a big part of his caretaking from the beginning of his health battle and due to the long hours spent taking care of dad, she has been unable to work. As a family, we have decided to raise money to help cover some of the cost of his memorial service/burial. We want to thank everyone for all the kind words and support they've already shown us throughout the past couple of days. It means more to us than words can say.
A little about dad-
Randy was the son of Brenda Satterfield and Ronald Bowling born on July 21, 1970. He was a mentor and role model to his little brother Corey Roper. Despite the age gap between the two, Randy and Corey had the greatest of bonds. There is no best friend quite like a brother. Although born and raised in Ashville all his life, Randy graduated from St. Clair High School Class of 1990. He was a new student entering the 11th grade and quickly made friends, who to this day are more family than friends. High School sweethearts and soulmates, Randy met and fell in love with Debra during his time at St. Clair. They were married on June 4, 1993 and celebrated 31 wonderful years of marriage. They welcomed their baby girl, Kaitlyn, in November of 1996. Randy was a loving and dedicated father who loved being a girl dad. Kaitlyn recalls her younger days spent alongside her father at the creek fishing and exploring. Being creative is not a hobby, it’s a way of life. This rings true as Randy was a master carpenter who took great pride in his craft. Any who seen his drawings or wood working can confirm, Randy was an amazing and gifted artist. He enjoyed exploring his creative side and always encouraged others to as well. His free time was spent creating works of art, fishing, anything Alabama football, or spending time with his family. Randy was happiest when around his grandchildren. Pawpaw was his favorite name.
Randy was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Bowling; grandfather, Judge Shirley Satterfield; granddaughter, Reyna Martin; and mother-in-law, Linda Peoples.
He is survived and missed dearly by his loving wife, Debra Bowling; daughter, Kaitlyn Martin (Corey); grandchildren, Remington Wilder and Rozalynn Martin; mother, Brenda Satterfield; brother, Corey Roper; uncle, Link (Shawn) Satterfield; father-in-law, Curtis Peoples; and brother-in-law, Glenn Peoples (Tammy).
