Support for Rare Lymphoma Treatment

Hey family and friends! Some of you know what's been going on lately, but for those of you that don’t, I was recently diagnosed with a rare type of non-hodgkins lymphoma in the skin.

For those of you who don’t know my story…

In February of 2023, shortly after I found out I was pregnant, I started noticing a lump developing on my forehead. I asked my OBGYN if it was something I should worry about and they told me no. Fast forward to January 2024, I went to have it checked out by a dermatologist and they were very dismissive about it. The dermatologist I saw thought it was just a lipoma (fatty tissue). I went to another dermatologist to get a second opinion and they referred me to a plastic surgeon. I ended up having the lump removed in March 2024, and was made aware that the cells were cancerous.

I was referred to an oncologist and they told me that usually for something like this, they would require chemo and radiation. I had a bone marrow biopsy and a PET scan done and luckily the cancer has not spread to other parts of my body that we can see (there is still a chance there are cancerous cells that are not able to be detected in my forehead). As a result, the oncologist consulted with her colleagues at Mayo Clinic to see if there were other options for treatment. Lucky for me, they offer radiation injections that are super effective at killing the cells without burning my skin at surface level. Mayo is one of four centers in the Western US that offers this type of treatment.

Unfortunately, Mayo is not in-network for me, and as a result, my insurance is not willing to pay for the treatment that I need. As I’m sure you can imagine, the cost of all the testing and treatment is insane. I greatly appreciate any assistance y’all can provide to help get us through this.
