Supporting Ray, Jessica & Mateo

Ray and Jessica purchased and moved into a new house on April 26th. Over the next four days, their then four-month-old son, Matéo, became more and more ill. They discovered their house was not livable, as it had extensive undisclosed mold and water damage. 


They lost most of their personal belongings including all clothing, furniture, and Matéo’s baby items. They had to move in with family members. The repairs have been estimated at $60,000, so this is not a problem they can fix on their own.


As they navigated this nightmare, they had reason to believe the mold and water damage present in the home at the time of purchase was known and intentionally not disclosed by the seller and his realtor. Ray and Jessica are receiving legal counsel as they present their case for Failure to Disclose and Breach of Contract.


As new parents, this situation has been a significant challenge. Ray and Jessica have been working to replace belongings, and paying a mortgage for a house they cannot live in. This has made funds extremely tight, so Ray and Jessica would greatly appreciate help with lawyer costs. 


$12,000 will go to help cover legal fees, recovery of lost and damaged personal items, as well as transitional housing needs.
