Support for Rebecca Grundy

Hi Friends,
As many of you have already heard, our good friend Rebecca Grundy has recently been diagnosed with a low grade glioma non-malignant brain tumour.
On the weekend of September 20th, she was out visiting friends when a sudden seizure happened. When she woke up in the hospital the doctors told Rebecca that she had 3 seizures and that they had discovered a 6cm tumour in her left frontal lobe where her speech and language centres are located.
Since being diagnosed, Rebecca has been a rock star in learning to understand, cope and educate herself about this situation. She has also been nothing but positive and calm in explaining her situation to family and friends.
Whether you met her at University, synchronized swimming, or through her passion for volunteering and politics, we can all confirm that Rebecca is one of the most sincere people out there. Friends can come and go from your life but true friends are always there when you need them the most. This is Rebecca – who makes us laugh, feel listened to, and genuinely cares how you are doing.
Rebecca’s operation will take place at UHN’s Toronto Western Hospital on Thursday November 1st. She has some of the best doctors on her team and there is no doubt the operation will be a success and she’ll recover quickly. That said, her after care is going to be expensive. So we are reaching out to her incredible network of friends and family to help support Rebecca with a variety of after care expenses, such as: transportation, medical/rehabilitation costs and much more.
We all know Rebecca would be one of the first people to step up and support any of her friends in a time of need so let’s do the same for her.
