From Rich:
Our beautiful and strong daughter, Liss, passed away this week at the age of 8 after a courageous battle with leukemia. Born in 2017, Liss was the heartbeat of our family. She was loud, vibrant, and always ready to take charge, making sure everyone around her knew exactly what she wanted and needed. Liss’s humor was uniquely hers, strangely funny and always bringing joy and laughter to our home. When I say humor, I mean I just always cracked up at her screaming louder than a megaphone. She had an infectious energy that made everyone around her feel loved and important. She would scream like an elephant, dress up as one, and was a born leader. "Dad, I want to go to that place because it has red lights and purple windows." I said, "You got it, girl."
Her favorite animal was the elephant, and she carried her love for them everywhere. Her room and even her laundry were filled with elephant-themed itemselephant blankets, stuffed animals, and toys. She was the "boss" of the family, and we could always count on her to bring a smile to our faces.
In early 2021, at the age of 4, Liss was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), a cancer that affects the blood and bone marrow. I and my family were devastated by the news, but we quickly found strength in her fighting spirit. Despite the difficult treatments and setbacks, Liss remained determined, always wanting to be in charge, never wanting to let her illness define her.
For nearly two years, Liss underwent intensive chemotherapy, hospital stays, and countless medical procedures. Throughout her treatment, she showed incredible resilience and bravery, never letting the pain or fear dim her bright, bold personality. She fought every step of the way, and we are so proud of her strength.
In the final weeks of her life, Liss’s condition worsened. Her battle with leukemia came to an end peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, and she is now free from the pain she endured. Though our hearts are shattered, we find comfort knowing that Liss is no longer suffering and that her spirit lives on in our hearts. No more pain, only peace. Only peace is what we could ask for, nothing more.
I want to thank every hospital, every doctor and nurse, and my bandmates for setting this up.
As I navigate this loss, I'm asking for support to cover medical expenses, funeral costs, and monthly bills to catch up on.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, prayers, and support.
With love,
Rich Williams
