Support For Robert Whaley's Family
Donation protected
Robert Whaley, a member of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity, transitioned on June 17, 2022. He and his immediate family did not prepare for this subsequent day. Robert was resilient with an infectious smile and most inspired by his family. He was aspirational when speaking of his children and grandchildren. His loss was sudden for those close to him. His daughter and grandchildren who lived with him do not have the financial means to bury our Sands with dignity and move on with their lives. It is my prayer that the Gamma Beta Community can provide much support. This message is an appeal from my Sands to assist Robert’s family during this difficult time. Please consider donating to this worthy cause. No donation is too small or large.
The fraternity has produced scholars and servant leaders of all types for over 100 years. Who would not want to be part of an organization with that legacy of achievement?
For those men who have been worthy enough to cross the” Burning Sands,” you understand and appreciate the forever love for the fraternity and the importance of “Thanks” to those who have “Made” you ((Our Dean J.T. Slaughter, The Turbulent Twelve, Stepping Six, Stick Up Six, Ace of Diamonds, Ten Most Wanted, Shell Shock Seven, Arrogant Six Pack, and countless others) plus the absolute passion and compassion for your Sands, (Melvin Jordan, Wille Mays, Robert Whaley, and Ricardo Sowell).
Approximately 48 years ago, five young, ambitious men arrived in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to attend Western Michigan University. They were from distinctly different backgrounds, with one common objective, to become the best version of themselves academically through social and civic experiences. In no time, they quickly realized that the journey to being productive citizens and servant leaders in the community was through a fraternal bond that included Kappa Alpha Psi, the most dynamic fraternity on the planet!
The fraternity taught us that the journey to becoming a Kappa is not linear, nor is the timeline in life. There are many challenges to navigate, most of which are unforeseen. Trust that your donation will create space for Robert’s family to make important decisions regarding their future. Again, no donation is too small or large.
We will keep you posted on services as they develop.
Yours in the Bond
