Support for Roger Dayrit
*UPDATE:
The Dayrit family announces with great sadness and heartbreak the loss of beloved Roger Dayrit. He lost his battle with his illness this morning at 9:52am (Philippine time). Donations to this campaign will go towards the outstanding medical bills, funeral arrangement and assistance for his wife, Irene. Thank you for your prayers and generosity.❤️
Roger Dayrit is simple, funny, easy-going man who retired to his home country, the Philippines, with his lovely wife, Irene, after decades of working at Caesars casino in Atlantic City, NJ. Recent situation will need a lot of prayers, empathy and financial help from those who knew him well and from those who have a soft spot in their hearts for people in need.
The recent Taal volcano eruption has temporarily displaced Roger and Irene from their home. They were forced to live in a motel miles away from the volcanic ash and smoke-covered town. Roger, who has been battling a heart disease for several years, was admitted to the local hospital for shortness of breath. After several days in the ICU, the doctors from the ill-equipped provincial hospital were unable to figure out what was wrong and were forced to transfer him to Makati Medical Center located in the capital city, Manila, where capable specialists and latest medical equipments are present but for a high price. This hospital requires a minimum monetary deposit in cash prior to admittance. The silver lining of this pricey admittance is the proper diagnosis of a malignant lung tumor of 7cm x 7cm.
Roger and Irene have no children. They were living their simple retired life in a small province in the Philippines where their social security benefits from the USA can be stretched further than if they were to live and retire in New Jersey. Roger and Irene’s recent heavy expenses from being displaced from the volcanic disaster and being in and out of the hospital in 2019 have depleted their life’s savings. They have sold their car and other belongings to help finance their needs. With the recent diagnosis of his lung cancer, the financial contributions of their family still doesn’t seem to help pull them out of the negative.
If you can find it in your heart to donate even the smallest amount, it will help pay for Roger’s piling medical bills in his fight with lung cancer, and it will help keep his devoted, suffering wife afloat. Thank you for your help and prayers.
