Support for Romeo's Eye Surgery & Diabetes

Donation protected
Romeo is a beautiful, 5-pound, 5-year-old, black Chihuahua in need of surgery to save his sight.  He is one of nine rescues that Pinellas County school teacher and yoga instructor, Lori Bushey, took in when there was a lack of availability at local rescues.  Lori stepped up (as she usually does) after a friend put out a plea for help in saving two little Chihuahua brothers (Romeo, and his brother, Henry).

Lori has such a soft heart for her pack (many of her fur babies have special needs and diseases) and she is passionate about being a voice for animals who can't speak for themselves.  Animals usually come to her in dire need and she ends up taking them in to save them from being sent to a shelter or worse.  Romeo is a little love bug who is one lucky guy after Lori took him and his brother, Henry, in so that they would not be separated from each other.

Lori is reluctant to ever ask for help from anyone, so I am asking on her behalf, since I see the sacrifices she makes (on a teacher's income) to ensure her pups are given a safe home, food, medication, lots and lots of love, and anything they need to help them on their journey until they cross the Rainbow Bridge.  While Lori has already spent well over a thousand dollars on Romeo's recent diabetes testing, diagnosis and medication, she just found out today that she needs to cover right at $5,500 in order to save his sight.   Romeo immediately needs both eyes operated on so that he does not completely lose his vision.  The vet informed her that his sight will continue declining, and noticeably so, over the next couple of weeks.... he is already starting to bump into things at this point.

If you are able to financially help with Romeo's surgery and immediate medical needs (estimated ~ @  approximately $5,500), please donate to this fund-raising effort.  In addition to Romeo’s immediate eye surgery and insulin ($100/month) needs, Lori covers medical expenses for a few other dogs that have ongoing medical needs which are financially burdensome on a single teacher’s budget. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Prayers are also greatly appreciated for Lori and Romeo as they address Romeo’s health issues.  He is a young little pup with lots of living to do and a true “Romeo” at heart.  Thank you for all who are able to contribute as you are able, whether a prayer, good thought or financial support.
