Support for Ryder's Recovery Journey

Update June 18:
A letter from dad-
In a short 48 hours so many thing have developed with Ryder. He suffered a massive barrage of trauma to multiple areas of his body after a cyclist vs suv collision. Ryder has three fractures, one on his head that didn’t cause a bleed or swelling of the brain and one on each side of his pelvis. His pelvis experienced a massive amount of torsion leaving it off set and unstable as well. With multiple cuts to his face including a cut in his ear canal and one on the exterior of his ear he received sutures and the same for the large cut to the inside of his lower lip. He suffered a broken top right rib as well as a torn lung and a laceration to his liver. Lucky for Ryder he’s tougher than he gives himself credit for! We never gave up cheering him on and reminding him how powerful he is. With the help from the medical staff and the faith, hope and love of countless people Ryder made it to surgery this morning (June 18) after the internal bleeding stopped naturally and his blood test came back with signs of massive improvement. In his surgery they addressed many pockets of fluid behind large patches of road rash as well as putting four rods in his pelvis to help stabilize and heal the breaks and straighten out the pelvis.
Ryder is back in his room now and in good spirits considering the former. He has enjoyed moments with family and friends and expresses missing his siblings as well as the last couple days of school. We have explained to him the right amount of information about his condition and his road to recovery ( which is very minimal so far). He is determined and driven even just a small amount of hours post-op, to make it back to our summer fun plans. He is very understanding and has asked questions this whole time that show us that he hasn’t skipped a beat. He is resting well with strong and smooth stats on the monitor. Although life has changed for him he hasn’t lost one bit of grit and today I could see it in his eyes. We are filled with gratitude at the outpouring of love and support from family, and friends. All the love and prayers have been the biggest force to help Ryder as well as all of us closest to him. The road is long and the battle isn’t over yet however I believe with support like we have right now anything is possible.

I'm making this on behalf of Nik and Kaitlin. Ryder was hit by a car in a freak accident on Father's Day and is up at Harbor View in Seattle and we don't exactly know how long he will be there for. He goes in for surgery tomorrow and we will know more then. I'm trying to help relieve some stress for them by rasing some money while they are up there with Ryder. Thank you for your support.
