Support For Sandra Poulton
Donation protected
Doug Poulton, the inspiration behind many community activities in and around St. Margaret's Bay died suddenly on December 22, 2019, leaving behind his wife, Sandra, who depended on Doug for her livelihood and care. Funds raised will go directly to Doug's funeral expenses as well as transition support for Sandra in St. Margaret's Bay, close to their family and friends.
Doug had deep roots in his community. He and his wife Sandra were long-time residents of Glen Haven. For 20 years they ran the White Sails Bakery in Tantallon. While running the bakery they were always supportive of Church and community dinners providing baked goods as needed. When they sold the bakery Doug started a new career and focused his business interest on real estate with Enter Realty.
Doug’s initiative prompted the formation of the Seniors Association of St. Margaret’s Bay, the St. Margaret’s Bay Chamber of Commerce and the Hammonds Plains Business Association. He was involved with the St Margaret’s Bay Regional Tourism Association, the St Margaret’s Bay Business Association, the Whynacht’s Cove Environmental Society, and Relay for Life. Doug was always eager to help and supportive of his community in whatever way he was able, often working with businesses and soliciting donations to support the issue of the day.
In recent years, Doug and Sandra had fallen on difficult times resulting in them having to move from the community they made home for so many years. This is particularly difficult for Sandra as she relied heavily on Doug to support her increasing needs. She will require additional support, more that her family is able to provide.
This generous and caring man gave so much of himself for the betterment of the community, it is time for the community to show some support for Sandra in his memory to ease the worry and burden on those left behind.
