Support for Sandy Whisnant's Final Journey
Donation protected
We need your help. Our family was recently rocked by some very unexpected news. In July, Miley's mother, Sandy Whisnant, was diagnosed with stage 4 Cholangiocarcinoma. It is a very serious type of cancer that is fast and aggressive. With this devastating news, we all held onto high hopes that she would beat it. Miley and family began helping Sandy to her chemo treatments and doctor visits. They tried to get ahead of it, but one week ago, she was feeling very sick and becoming confused. The doctor assessed her condition and recommended that all treatments should be stopped. The treatments would only further weaken her body and make her final days more uncomfortable. The doctor informed us that it was unclear how long Sandy had left, but it would not be long... she said days, not weeks. Since then, we were able to take her out fishing on one of her last good days. This was a very special day that our family will forever treasure.
Now, less than a week following Aunt Nana's fishing adventure, she has become unresponsive. She is receiving hospice care at our home in Shawnee. We welcome family and friends to come say their final goodbyes. People have been so generous, thoughtful, and supportive. We are so appreciative of all of the love, kindness, and generosity these last few weeks. We have more snacks than we know what to do with. Everyone has been saying let us know if there is anything we can do, and we are very thankful for that. For those who can help financially, we kindly ask to consider donating what you can for Sandy's final funerary expenses. She did not have life insurance or any money set aside for anything like this. She is only 58 years old. Nobody expected things to change this fast. I know our family will help as much as they can, and we will cover as much as we can. Memorials and funerals are far more expensive than they used to be, and we are all struggling financially to make ends meet. With that being said, thank you for any amount you can contribute. Please continue to keep our family in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate through these difficult times.
God Bless Everyone,
The Williams/Whisnant Families
