Could I ask for just a few minutes of your time today, friends? I want to share a little bit with you about a friend of mine going through incredibly tough things in life- and she’s doing it with the strength of lions and a heart of pure GOLD.
My friend, Sasha, is a dental hygienist who was such a pleasure to work with we became friends. She was in early pregnancy when we met and I loved watching her belly and her glow grow every week. I didn’t realize how little I knew about her personal life. Months after we met I heard through another coworker that her boyfriend, Maikol, was battling Stage 4 cancer. With Sasha’s joyful demeanor at work, you never would have known- not to mention she made working through pregnancy look like a walk in the park and never had a complaint there either- even when her schedule was heavier than mine day after day.
Fast forward to today- Sasha and Maikol have been blessed with a miracle baby. His name is Kayden and he is absolute perfection. Mommy and baby are doing great, and if you sit down for a chat with daddy Maikol, you’d say he is doing wonderful as well. However, shortly after Sweet Kayden arrived, Maikol’s battle with cancer increased in intensity. Emergency trips to seek care for him have surfaced more than once, and his options for treatment keep closing in on him. They were told he has 3-6 months to live. We know that man can never truly determine God’s plan based solely on science, but still it is a jolting diagnosis for their family.
As this beautiful little family masters parenthood together, they juggle a lot. They have a lot on their minds and many incredibly difficult decisions to make about their path going forward, with the majority of their family living overseas. Can you imagine?
Kayden is now 10 wks old and mommy and daddy have grateful smiles on their faces. One thing they should not have to worry about on top of all the sleep deprivation and stressful decisions is finances. Please consider donating, if you can, to Sasha and Maikol. If you are not in a place to help financially, please be sure to share this story- we can use our social networks today for something so good.
Thank you so much for your time and your thoughtfulness in sharing!
