SUPPORT FOR SCOTT AND LINDY BROWN

As some of you may have heard, a young family from our community has suffered a tragic loss on Wednesday.

For those of you who may not be familiar with this family's journey, Scott and Lindy own a a dairy farm in Portage Vale (east of Sussex) and have been producing milk since 2018. As a community, we have had the pleasure of watching this young family pour their heart and soul into turning their childhood dream into reality. The Browns have always welcomed members of the community with open arms. They are the type of folks that would give the shirt off their back to anyone in need.

On Wednesday evening, the young family watched in disbelief as their entire livelihood burnt to the ground. They tragically lost 33 of their 36 dairy cattles in the fire, along with all of the equipment and lodging that allowed them to provide for themselves and their 3 young children.

In their time of loss and rebuilding, we want to come together and show them the strength of our community near and far. The financial strain they are facing is far reaching, including bills, the basic needs of their family, and housing/care for their surviving animals.
