Support for Sgt. Brian Werthmann's Recovery
Donation protected
On May 31st, 2024, Sergeant Brian Werthmann, who has honorably served the City of Summit for 24 ½ years, underwent an eight-hour surgery to remove a large acoustic neuroma from his brain.
The surgeons were able to successfully remove the 4cm tumor from his brain, however, Brian has experienced serious postoperative complications, such as partial paralysis of the left side of his body, partial blindness, and the inability to walk without assistance. Although his doctors are hopeful that these complications will resolve over time, it is not guaranteed.
Just prior to his diagnosis, Brian submitted his retirement application to the State and is scheduled to retire on August 1st of this year. For his post-law enforcement career, Brian, who is a contractor by trade, planned to work as a general contractor and had just formed his company, Werthmann Bros. Unfortunately, due to the complications that resulted from his recent surgery, Brian will not be able to work in that capacity for some time.
On behalf of Brian, his wife Cristina, and their two daughters, Summit PBA Local 55 asks for your support. All proceeds from this fundraiser will go directly to The Werthmann Family to assist them during these difficult times.
If you are unable to donate, we ask that you share this post and pray for a speedy recovery.
