Support for Sgt. Jesse Thorpe Jr.'s Final Honors
Donation protected
Hello, My name is Lori-Ann McIntyre, and I am the daughter of Sgt. Jesse Thorpe Jr. Of Poughkeepsie, New York. On Thursday, May 2nd, 2024, my father sustained cardiac and respiratory arrest. Unfortunately, despite the efforts of EMS, he sustained an anoxic brain injury that caused severe seizure activity, indicating brain death. On May 6th, 2024, at about 507 pm, while holding my hand, my father took his last breath of life while listening to his favorite Jazz Artist, John Coltran, with his last heartbeat ending exactly on the last note of Blue Train. He was a donor, through his gifts he was able to allow others to continue their lives.
My father served over 20 years in the military, initially in the Marines and the remainder in the Army Reserves National Guard. He was a long-time employee, with over 16 years at Dutchess Community College in Poughkeepsie, where he developed relationships and touched the hearts of many he came in contact with.
He was the father of two children, myself and my brother Jesse Thorpe III, three grandchildren, Shawn Parker, Kiara Williams, and Tremayne Jones, and three great-grandchildren, Maddison, Mason, and Makhai Parker.
Unfortunately, the upfront cost for his services is not within my budget at this time, and we need some resources to pay for the services he deserves. Yes, the military covers some of the cost, but not up front. I am asking for any assistance to help cover the difference between the $3,000.00 I have on hand. Anything helps and is appreciated. Once arrangements are finalized, I will update the service date and location.
Service UPDATE: Calling hours are from 10 am to 1130 am and Memorial Services from 1130 to 1230, will be held at the Full Gospel Center 1138 State Rte 55, Lagrangeville, NY 12540 on May 25th 2024.
Thank you in advance,
Lori-Ann McIntyre
