Support for Shannon Walker - COVID Recovery

Shannon Walker, beloved high school science teacher at Lisbon Community Schools, was stricken with COVID-19 in November and was hospitalized for almost five weeks. She will be in recovery until March at the earliest and will not be able to work between now and then. Shannon was in a medically induced coma and on a ventilator. Her medical team believes she is lucky to be alive. 

With her COVID leave and sick days running out shortly before Holiday break, the Walkers will be facing months of diminished income. There is no doubt that they will feel the economic impact of Shannon's hospitalization as she is not cleared to return to work until late March. 

Shannon's friends and coworkers would like to encourage everyone to donate a little to help Shannon and Graham get through this time as Shannon faces months of physical therapy. The long-term damage to her body is still unknown. 

These donations will go towards replacing any diminished pay so that Shannon and Graham can pay bills. Shannon also has a very restrictive diet and many food sensitivities that make grocery shopping more expensive. Gift cards to Gary's Foods in Mount Vernon or Hy-Vee would also be greatly appreciated.
