Support for Simone
Family and friends,
I need your help for Simone. Many of you may remember Simone from the Hot August nights event where she so bravely recited
her poem about coming to Vera's Sanctuary and leaving the life of trafficking behind. Simone came in so broken and is now one of
our most powerful staff members. She has saved so many of our young women and now she needs our help! Please click the link

Simone Poem
Simone grew up in Compton California where her family still resides with ever increasing gang violence. As you can imagine, every day is a war zone in a neighborhood where you could be killed for the color of your skin, the friends you associate with or the
street you live on.
Simone always described her little brother Tyler as the level headed one. The family protector, mediator and lover. Tyler who
recently became a first time daddy to a beautiful little girl, while pursing a career as a truck driver, was brutally shot in the head in a gang retaliation shooting two weeks ago. Over the past two weeks, Simone has been emotionally devastated with extreme
mourning and grief and recently shared that they do not have the money to bury her little brother... even with the lowest cost
option.
I am writing you in hopes that together we can do something for someone who has given back so much. If we can come together
and offer whatever we have, no matter how little, I believe we can raise the necessary funding to provide Simone with the
necessary support to provide her little brother a proper burial.
Thank you in advance. Everything helps. ❤️
