Support for Skull and Snake's Recovery

Hello all! My name is Chad Chase, owner of Venom Ink Tattoo in Sanford, Maine. Our good friends over at Skull and Snake have fallen on devastating times. They have lost their entire studio, that they JUST renovated and moved in to.

Unfortunately on Sunday morning, a water pipe on the third floor of our building burst and began to flood the structure quickly and aggressively from the top down. Water was coming into our studio from our ceiling and walls, causing it to flood actively for an hour before first responders were able to secure the electric, and the water, so the building was at least safe to be inside. So much water had filled the walls and the ceilings between the floors that it continued to come into our space for four more hours. The building took on so much water, that when water remediation professionals came to assess the extent of the damage, we were given a grim prognosis. A large portion of the building and our studio needs to be demolished, dried, and reconstructed. Every unit in the building is currently uninhabitable, we were told we needed to get everything out immediately, and we are looking at about 3-4 months of work for the building to be fixed. Obviously we cannot go that long without working, and we just finally got settled from building out and moving recently into this brand new space. We are all devastated by what has happened, and are working on getting the entire contents of our space into a storage unit, and trying to figure out exactly what to do from here. Our immediate appointments have been notified, and we will continue to reach out to more once we are able. That is all of the info we have at this time. I wish this post had better news. We worked so hard on getting this new studio put together, and we essentially woke up without it. We appreciate you all so much, and ask for some patience during this time as we try to figure out where to go from here, and how to continue to be able to work again. This studio supports a total of 5 children and 3 adults, well, it used to! They really need our help! Anything at all helps, these are great people, let’s help them get back on their feet!
