Skye’s tumour journey

As some of you may know, Skye and our family have gone through quite a rough time this past year and here we are yet again met with another challenge.

Nearly a year ago Skye experienced complications post child birth which resulted in emergency surgery. Thankfully she came out with a big smile on her face and a healthy little angel.

Six months after that, she presented back to hospital and they located a tumor the size of a chicken egg in her brain. Having to have brain surgery to remove this just before Christmas 2022.

This already has caused a lot of financial and emotional stress for both her and the family.

Fast forward another 6 months, she presented to ED with double vision and unfortunately they found 4 new lesions on her brain and brain stem.

Currently still awaiting a diagnosis we are not sure where this leaves her.

She was due to return to work in two weeks but now it is unclear as to when she can. Her partner Jacob again has taken time off work to help take care of their three young children (7, 4 and 10 months).

This has also lead to other family members taking time off to provide not only emotional support but also financial support to assist with bills and medical expenses and trying to provide and protect their children from the pain and stress.

I am creating this in hope to relieve some financial pressure off them whilst Skye awaits diagnosis.
