Support for Stan Nakahara
Donation protected
Dear Friends,
Our colleague and friend, part-time faculty member Stan Nakahara, recently fell ill following two back surgeries. While recovering in the hospital, he suffered a stroke, and is now recovering at a Kaiser facility in Walnut Creek.
Stan has been a leader in our community for decades, mentoring thousands of kids at Dublin, Berkeley, Piedmont, Richmond, McClymonds, and Oakland High Schools in sports and recreation. For the past several years, he has taught in the kinesiology department at College of Alameda, and has run his own sports medicine clinic to help local athletes recover from injury.
Due to his illness, Stan had to give up his two courses at COA this semester, and although he has excellent medical care, without his teaching income, bills will be tight for him and his wife Diane. Please consider a donation, no matter how small, to help our brother Stan through this tough time.
