Support for Stephanie Hart & Family

Our dear friend and colleague, Dr.Stephanie Hart, informed us that her husband, Alain, passed away unexpectedly on March 29th, 2023. Her loss is devastating and unimaginable and there are no words that can truly console someone in a tragedy like this. We have created this GoFundMe fundraiser to provide support for Stephanie and her daughter, Gillian, as they try to process this grief by assisting with the many costs that occur after a loved one passes. Stephanie just recently completed treatment for breast cancer in 2022 and had only recently returned to practice after being on disability for an extended period. In addition, during the efforts of the EMS response, extensive water damage was sustained to their home. We can not fathom trying to manage these costs, in addition to suddenly becoming the sole income earner of the household. Through this GoFundMe fundraiser, we are hoping to provide some financial stability for Stephanie and Gillian while they process this overwhelming change in their lives.

Many of us know Stephanie as an online voice in several popular physician forums. She has never failed to provide invaluable advice for anyone who requested it, and she has been our well-respected expert in relationship and sexual health for several years. Whether it was through lectures by CWIM or private messages of support to individuals, Stephanie has been changing the lives and practice of many physicians and for that, we are incredibly grateful. We hope that this fundraiser will give her and her daughter a bit of peace of mind so they can focus properly on grieving the loss of Alain.

We have set a goal of $5000 but we don't believe there is a number you can estimate for grief and loss. As this was very unexpected, we know there will be unknown costs that Stephanie will face in the future. All funds from this GoFundMe will be going directly to Stephanie and Gillian to manage in the way they need it best.

Stephanie is obviously overwhelmed by this loss but she has seen your posts of condolences and truly appreciates the support from everyone. When she has time to process all this, we will provide updates from her if she wishes.
