Support for Steve & his family

Hi Team,
My name is Bree, and the man learning to walk in the photo is my oldest brother Stephen. Anyone who's ever met Steve will tell you that he's got a wicked sense of humour, can find the silver lining in any situation, incredibly resilient, but above all, he is a proud father to 3 kids and loving husband to his wife of over 20 years, Terri.
Bit of background. Due to an accident when he was younger, Steve has suffered from chronic pain for 20+ years. In August Stephen flew down to Perth for surgery to move spinal cord leads from a stimulator to help relief some of this pain. After surgery, Steve experienced a loss of sensation in his legs and was rushed back under to try resolve the issue. Upon waking found he still had some numbness, but was told after a bit of rehab and time, this should resolve. Fast forward a few weeks later, while at home, suddenly found that he was unable to feel his legs, couldn't walk, wouldn't move. The ambulance was called and he was back in hospital at Port Hedland waiting to be transferred back down to Perth for further treatment. 9 weeks later, he is still waiting to get a bed in Fiona Stanley hospital which specialises in Rehabilitation, but as you can tell in the photo, Steve is determined to make progress.
Stephen and his family live in a small town in North Western Australia, Port Hedland. Unfortunately being so rural, medical services are limited here and patients are forced to seek treatment in Perth 1600kms South of where they live. Which brings me to the reason I have put together this GoFund me page.
Steve has been in/out of hospital since August. Christmas is getting closer and the bills are starting to come in. Unfortunately PATS aren't able to assist, flights cost a minimum $600pp to/from Perth and accommodation in WA isn't cheap. I wanted to try and raise some money to help with household bills, help take off some of the pressure and help his family travel to see him to spend Christmas together.
Stephen is a humble, proud man. He would never ask for a hand out... All I am asking for is a "HAND-UP". A couple of dollars (if you can spare!) can go a long way in helping. I appreciate you taking the time to read this, and I hope that you will be able to help me support this absolute legend.
Have a safe and wonderful Christmas,
Bree x
