Recently my dad was diagnosed with GE Junction Adenocarcinoma. This is a cancer of the esophagus and upper stomach. He can no longer eat or drink foods because his esophagus is closed off by the cancer. The doctors have placed a tube for feeding and nutrition in his stomach, and he will likely be in this state until the end of his life.
My dad lived his whole life taking care of others and invested his heart and soul to do so. Many of the people who have been touched by my dad's care have been reaching out to support my dad.
As people are imagining the medical bills are going to be quite extensive.
We have been deeply moved by so many people's hearts, and to say we're grateful for the love and care people are expressing is an understatement.
We decided to set this go fund me up to support my parents as we are looking at hospital stay costs, tests, in home care, and potentially other large expenses as we begin to look into treatment options to enhance my fathers quality of life.
The diagnosis is that this is terminal cancer. As such, treatment options are going to potentially extend his life but not save it. We are hoping to soften the financial burden placed on my parents at this time.
