Support for Store Manager's Brain Tumor Battle

On April 30th, a day that marked a significant change in my life, I was working as a Store Manager at Gorsuch Ltd in Vail, Colorado. Suddenly, I found myself being whisked down to the main level by fast-acting friends and coworkers who pushed me in a roller office chair, as I was no longer able to walk on my own. Another friend and coworker provided a quick ride to the ER. I can only imagine how hilarious and horrifying a video of that ride would be. A quick CT scan at the ER revealed a mass on the right side of my brain. Ugh!

The next step in my now new journey brought me to Swedish Med Center in Englewood, CO. My new neurology team, headed up by Dr. Buchanan, proved to be a lucky turn of events. After a four-hour surgery, the grade IV tumor was deemed fully resected. Yippee! On June 17th, I will begin a six-week radiation and a coinciding chemo treatment lasting for a year.

As I join the march to the Shaw Cancer Center in Edwards, CO along with many others, I hope to always be kind and hopefully uplift someone else's day.

I appreciate that my family and friends can embrace that humor goes a long way with this wacky journey.

I am lucky to have my daughter here between her freshman and sophomore year of university and we both appreciate life on a new level.
