Support for Stroke Survivor's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
I'm 32 years old married and we have 4 kids. Back in April I had a couple of strokes causing damage to my brain stem. Due to the strokes I had a right and left vertebral artery dissection and it killed me for 7 minutes, had emergency surgery to put 3 stents in the back side of my brain to open up those arteries again and get blood back to my brain. I was hospitalized for a month after the surgery. Going through therapy to try and get some mobility back in my left side of my body which was completely paralyzed for a couple of weeks. I've been trying to get on disability because of my brain damage and mobility issues but they keep denying me. I'm not able to perform my line of work duties that I could do before my strokes. It has effected my mobility to be able to go back to work. I was a dump truck driver but now since I've had my strokes they have revoked my license. I'm still in the working process to get back to normal but it is going to be a long rocky road. As a family of six we relied on my income. With all the medical bills and just everyday living my family is struggling without my income anymore. This has been a huge life change and a challenge to my whole family. Any little bit helps and thank you in advance.
