Support for Suzy's Fight with Cancer

Suzy is the type of person that shares her humor, kindness and selflessness with everyone she meets. Her joy for life and family has created a world of beautiful relationships. It starts with her amazing love of being a wife, mother of 3, and grandmother of 4 then extends to the impact she has had on countless friends her whole life because she treats them the only way she knows how, as family

Unfortunately, a few weeks ago (Dec 2021) our family’s world was turned upside down. Suzy had symptoms that resembled acid reflux and she was having A LOT of difficulty eating and drinking, but after a couple of weeks of medication, her situation did not improve, she went to the Emergency room and they started doing all the tests, CT, MRI, ultrasound and, endoscopy (a camera down her throat). The tests revealed she had a tumor on her pancreas and the biopsy confirmed it is Stage 4 CANCER - pancreatic cancer metastasis to the liver. With the advanced stage, it is not operable and has started Chemo.

Through her Oncologist and getting second opinions from the Chief Oncologist at Duke University, it is recommended that she will be given Chemo treatments (2 Drug method). The treatments have just started in hopes to shrink the tumors.

Suzy had stopped eating and drinking and lost many pounds. She is forcing herself to get any nourishment but it has been difficult even with appetite-enhancing drugs. This has made her very weak in just a very short period. She spent 10 days in the hospital where she received blood transfusions and several procedures. She is home now doing her chemo treatments on an outpatient basis.

Currently, the doctors are formulating a new plan to attack this monster and keep it from spreading. We are beyond devastated, but trying to stay strong and positive! Some days are better than others.

So many of you have asked “What can I do?” and many have suggested this GoFundMe, as a way to help with the expenses related to his heart-breaking battle. Suzy's fight is amassing thousands of dollars of medical bills, and the new year will bring many more bills, as they need to meet their insurance deductible again.

Suzy is very private with her struggles, but when it comes to giving her love and help to others, she has no limits.
