Support for Taiya Sebastian's Family

Hi, my name is Chloe and I’ve set up this gofundme to help out Taiya Sebastian and her family. Earlier this week Taiya was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia, she and her family are still in the process of finding out which stage. This is a very aggressive cancer and treatment starts very quickly. This was very unexpected news for Taiya and her family, everyone is trying to stay positive. But as with any long-term medical diagnosis, there are many costs associated. Taiya’s mom, Janelle has already been with Taiya throughout this process, missing work and not going home often. Taiya’s dad, Derek is currently living in Edmonton, AB and will have travel costs to come to see his daughter. As I already said this was incredibly unexpected and the family can use all the support they can get. Taiya is a fun-loving girl, she graduated from Martin Collegiate in June 2022. Taiya and I met in high school and worked together as mentors for students as they entered the school; Taiya has an amazing passion for music and used that to inspire others, playing both Lefou (Beauty and the Beast) and Donna (Mamma Mia) in our high school musicals, she also took on numerous solos in choir/vocal jazz and was a percussionist and pianist for our concert band. Taiya is now finishing her first year at the University of Regina towards a Bachelor of Science in Nursing; she is working very hard to achieve her goal of becoming a nurse, while still fostering her love of music, and working a part-time job. This is still in the very early stages, so please help in whatever way you can! If you know Taiya I know she’d love to hear from everyone at this time.
