Support for Tammy, Aidan, & their newborn Emmett

Aidan and Tammy looked forward to Emmett's arrival with all the joy of any young couple despite the extra barriers they faced with Aidan still in high school. Never could they or their families have prepared for what has occurred. Tammy was admitted due to COVID-19 complications at 34 weeks pregnant. Further complications resulted in emergency C-section. Emmett was born 5 1/2 weeks early and was placed in the NICU. Tammy's health took a turn for the worse. Due to shortness of breath and her oxygen levels plummeting she was transferred to St. Mary's in Rochester. On November 1st, 2021 she was intubated and placed on a ventilator. Tammy is currently receiving ECMO treatment (heart/lung support which occurs outside of the body and allows the organs to rest). She hasn't been able hold or spend time with her newborn baby.
