Support for Tara T-n-T, Janet and Aunt Terry

Our dear friend Tara lost her family home in the Palisades Fire. Her Aunt Terry and Uncle Richie owned the home for nearly 50 years, bought in 1976, Tara was raised and supported in this beautiful house overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

After Uncle Richie sadly passed, Tara’s Mom Janet moved in with Aunt Terry and they have happily kept each other company the last few years while sweet Tara would come visit and help the ladies with all the things.

Just recently Janet broke her leg and Tara had been staying in the Palisades, sleeping on the couch providing support for her mom and Aunt. You’ve seen the pictures, the pool was a sanctuary from crazy LA life.

Thank the heavens, Tara was there when the evacuation call came in. She says they had 30 minutes from receiving the warning to when they saw flames on the ridge and hurried out the door. It was a mad rush to pack the car with only the wheelchair, Rita Rose and Star (Janet’s precious Yorkie pup) while Mom and Aunt were hesitant to leave the sanctuary of their home.

It never entered their mind that they would not be returning home, so they packed nothing. Tara even forgot her phone in the mad dash!

They drove through burning embers and gridlock, and thankfully made it safely to West Hollywood where they were lucky to have a family friend with a wheelchair accessible condo. Everyone is safe and has a place to stay for now.

Tara’s besties - who experienced the magic of this palisades home, are setting up this fund to show support and love for Tara, Janet and Aunt Terry. This is such a devastating loss of the family home and all the possessions of living in a house for over 50 years. The funds will provide a slight relief for the complex path ahead, help replace some of the day to day necessities that were left behind, temporarily support them with the loss of income from work, and with Tara’s time caretaking her dear family.

Anything is much appreciated as this will be a very long process.
