Support for Teacher Fired For Speaking Up

Hello! My name is Mr. Taylor, and for the past decade I have had the immense privilege to be an educator in the Long Beach community. During this time, I have felt so much love teaching and leading my students to get active, face their shared issues, and to expect and demonstrate respect for themselves and their communities. I have also often had to choose between building my career and helping my students numerous times.

Unfortunately, this time there have been severe consequences. I chose my students over my administration, and the administration responded accordingly by telling the community I am dangerous, forcing students to block me on their phones, and threatening students and families who speak about sexual abuse and discrimination with police. They even went to my gym and told the trainers there not to believe anything I said or let me in. Even now, the retaliation I faced for caring for my students continues. The administration is doing everything they can to isolate and bully me and my community.

However, though it has been very difficult, I am still doing everything I can to help my students and their families. I need your help to get me back on my feet in the meantime so that I can continue supporting my community. Please help if you can. Any amount is greatly appreciated.
