Support for the Albas
On December 26, 2020, our good friend Matt Alba had a first-time seizure at his home in San Anselmo while getting ready to go on a bike ride with his 11 year old daughter. It was quickly determined that Matt has a Glioma brain tumor in his left frontal lobe. He underwent surgery on January 13, but a portion of the tumor was unable to be removed. While we await biopsy results on the tumor, there has been an outpouring of support from friends, family and neighbors, and the first question everyone asks is "how can I help?"
Those of us lucky enough to know Matt and his family know the kind of genuine people they are. Matt is currently a Captain in the San Francisco Fire Department and on the board of directors for the San Francisco Firefighters Cancer Prevention Foundation. Matt's warm smile and big heart are felt by all he meets, and his instinct to always offer help and look out for others has made him well-loved by many.
Now it's our turn to give Matt and his family our love and support.
The Albas are faced with significant financial hardships as Matt is indefinitely unable to work and Sarah has put her career on pause to care for Matt. Matt's road to recovery will be a long one. We can help make this journey a little lighter by alleviating some of the financial stress due to medical bills and lifestyle changes. Any amount you can donate makes a huge difference and is so appreciated. Sharing this with friends and family is also a great way to extend support. Thank you!
