Support for the Alicea Family
Donation protected
On January 15th, Erica was suddenly and unexpectedly rushed to the hospital after what was thought to be a seizure while waiting for her son to come out of his basketball game. Unfortunately events took a turn for the worse after discovering a brain hemorrhage in the occipital lobe from which she would not recover.
Tomorrow, on January 19, 2022, Erica Alicea, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend will be taken off of life support. At the young age of 42, she will pass away with her family at her side.
As tragic the loss of Erica is, the impact to the family is even greater. I am starting this campaign with the support of many others to assist her husband Rafael (Roc) and their 2 children Janae and Isaiah (17 and 16) in hopes to relieve some of the burden and costs associated with this unthinkable tragedy.
As so many of you can attest, Erica was a light in anyone’s life she touched. She adored her husband and cherished the life they had built together. Being a mother was one of the most important things to her and she was her children’s biggest fan. Whether attending a sporting event or watching a dance performance you could always count on Erica to be cheering from the crowd and one of the proudest parents in the room. She loved her family unconditionally and will live on in their hearts forever.
Erica was always thinking of how to make an impact in the lives of others, which led to her decision many years ago to become an organ donor. This is just one of the countless ways she will be memorialized.
Those of us who have had the privilege of getting to know, love, and befriend Erica, understand how important taking care of her family was to her. It is the intention of the campaign to honor her memory by providing a form of relief to her family in these difficult times. Any donation will be greatly appreciated and put towards accumulated medical bills, funeral costs, college funds and to help defer living expenses while they begin to heal from this tragedy.
