Support for the Bajgai Family in Memory of Yogesh

Donation protected
Hello friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,

My name is Deepesh Bajgai, and I am writing to you with a heavy heart. Our family has recently experienced an unimaginable loss. My beloved brother, Yogesh Bajgai, born in 1998 in Eastern Nepal, tragically drowned while swimming with friends at Sand Point Beach, Windsor. He was only 25 years old, an age too young to be taken from us.

Yogesh was an amazing brother to me and my sister Deepika and a wonderful son to Ananda (Ani) Bajgai and Sabita Bajgai. Our father, Ananda, relocated our family from the Bhutanese Refugee Camp Goldhap to Edmonton, Canada, in December 2015, and we later settled in Windsor, Ontario. Yogesh was the main breadwinner of our family, and his sudden departure has left us in deep emotional and financial distress.

In our culture, we follow Hindu traditions and norms for bereavement, which include a 16-day mourning period from the day of the funeral. During this time, we expect friends and family to visit our residence to offer their condolences. This process, while vital for our healing, also means we will face significant expenses.

We are reaching out to our extended family, friends, and compassionate strangers for support during this difficult time. Your generous contributions will help cover the costs of the funeral, support our family’s living expenses during the mourning period, and help us navigate the financial challenges ahead.

Please note, in line with our cultural practices, we avoid all materialistic offerings during this period. If you wish to support us beyond monetary contributions, raw fruits, water, and juices are most welcome. Additionally, we observe certain boundaries regarding direct interaction and physical contact during this time.

We deeply appreciate any help you can provide. No amount is too small, and every bit of support will make a difference. Thank you for your understanding, compassion, and generosity.

With heartfelt thanks,

Deepesh Bajgai and the Bajgai Family
