Support for the Bitz Family

On September 5, 2022, the unimaginable happened – Mathias and Courtney Bitz, and their three young children, were involved in a horrible car accident.
Precious little Cooper (5) is fighting for his life and is currently on life support from a resulting head injury. W (9) and T (3) also have very extensive and serious injuries, but not life-threatening.
The details are still being sorted out, but we know their van was rear-ended at high speed while traveling home this past Holiday weekend in California. Apparently, traffic had nearly come to a stop on a stretch of highway. Math was able to stop in time, but a vehicle behind him did not. All five of them are currently together at the same hospital in Sacramento, CA, where their three children are admitted.
Cooper’s condition is the most serious. He suffered a traumatic brain injury and was transported by helicopter to an area hospital. He is currently on life support and the doctors are “running out of options.” I ask that we lean on each other for prayers in hopes of one of God’s miracles.
The girls, W and T, have serious lower body injuries with broken bones requiring multiple surgeries with more to come. These injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, but the road ahead for them is hard to comprehend, both physically and mentally.
Math and Courtney are physically OK. But as you can imagine, they are having a hard time processing this devastating event. Courtney and Math have been splitting their time between kids with the help of their parents, Fran & Jon Joersz, and Jan Bitz. Most recently, W and T were moved together in the same room, while Cooper remains in pediatric ICU.
Want to help? Here are a few ways:
1.) Pray! Pray for a miracle for the precious and ever-smiling Cooper and the entire Bitz family!
2.) Donate! We cannot change the past or what happened. But we can ease the financial burden they will otherwise face on top of this already overwhelming situation. We want them to feel they can be there for their kids without having to worry about finances. It is unknown how long this recovery will continue, and the costs will be significant. Let’s pull together as family, friends, co-workers, acquaintances, and possibly even complete strangers to help this wonderful family navigate this challenging time.
3.) Please pass along this story to your networks of friends and family. Every prayer and donation helps!
The Bitz family thanks you in advance for your love, support, and unending prayers!
