Support for the Broad River Volunteer Fire Department in NC
Tax deductible
As many of you know, so much of the southeastern part of the US was recently hit hard by Hurricane Helene. One of the areas that was hit a lot harder than expected was western North Carolina. My parents are residents of Black Mountain, NC which is a small town outside of Asheville. They are safe, thank goodness, but sadly there are so many members of their community who have lost everything.
My dad is a volunteer firefighter and EMT at the Broad River Fire Department and their station took on a lot of damage. My dad found his helmet and was pretty happy with that! However along with many of the other firefighters, most of his other gear was lost.
I wanted to start this gofundme to donate to his fire department for them to use as they need to start repairs for their firehouse or to help members of the community. There is so much that will need to be rebuilt and I know they will do it. I talked to my mom and she said she was just blown away by the community and how everyone was already coming together to help one another.
We tried to get my parents to leave and come hang out with us while all this was happening and they refused and want to be there to help rebuild the community, which doesn’t surprise me. They are a really close knit, tough community but every little bit helps. If you aren’t able to donate, please share this and keep them in your thoughts! This was a lot worse than expected but our family feels very fortunate for a lot of reasons. Thank you!!!
