We are setting up a GoFundMe request for a few incredible young individuals who need our love and support now more than ever – Thomas Burchell and Debra Mabe, and Debra’s brother, Drew.

Thomas and Debra are a remarkable young couple - they are pure love, light, and positivity – with generous and giving hearts. Drew is a wonderful teen boy that stays out of trouble, maintains wonderful grades in school, and is an all-around good kid! Not to sound cliché, but to know them is to love them – truly!

Sadly, on January 5, 2022, just a couple weeks after Thomas and Debra’s Christmas engagement, Debra’s father Eddie passed away unexpectedly – leaving behind his wife of almost 30 years, Betty, and teen son, Drew.

Thomas and Debra continued to help support her mom and brother through this difficult time while planning their wedding – heartbroken that her dad wouldn’t be there to walk her down the aisle.

Tragically, on July 13, 2023, 18 months after Eddie’s sudden death and less than 2 months away from Thomas and Debra’s wedding, her mother, Betty, also passed away unexpectedly.

With Drew being a minor and no local family around, Thomas and Debra, without hesitation, opened their home for Drew. Considering the trauma of Drew personally witnessing both of his parents dying unexpectedly, they want to provide him with as much stability as possible.

Thomas and Debra currently live in a one-bedroom apartment over an hour away from where Drew lives and they want to ensure he can stay local to finish high school with his friends. With the wedding so close by that they have saved every penny to pay for, the mounting finances related to Betty’s passing, needing to relocate and upgrade to an apartment with two bedrooms, and raising a teenager, they are now struggling to be able to make ends meet. They feel confident that they will be able to get through this together as a family, but unfortunately, many up-front costs came unexpectedly that they are struggling to pay for.
