Support for the Calvert Family in Their Time of Grief

Donation protected
Hearts are shattered. William Christopher Calvert, better known as Chris, passed away from sudden cardiac arrest on August 6th, 2024. He is survived by his five children and three dogs, who are now forced to cope with the loss of both their parents, as Jenny, their mom and Chris’ wife, passed suddenly November 8th, 2023.

Chris was a family man, devoted husband, exceptional father, animal lover, man of faith, sports fanatic, funny, driven, and much more. He was the epitome of a nice guy. There is no better way to describe him.

Chris and Jenny were a great team. They welcomed home their five children through the Palm Beach County Foster Care Program, adopted them shortly after, and gave them unconditional love and support. A selfless journey, proving that family is defined by the bonds of the heart and not by blood.

Through his day-to-day actions Chris continuously instilled in the children to be strong, embrace challenges, work hard, be proud and to carry themselves with gratitude. Following the heart-breaking loss of Jenny, Chris rallied and kept the family moving while honoring Jenny’s positive and kind spirit that their family is known for. He was extremely organized. Work, school, sport practices, doctor appointments, dentist, laundry, vet visits, along with dog cuddles, vacations, holidays, traditions, you name it; he kept it all going while dealing with his own immeasurable grief and sorrow.

He was one who believed a good God is at work for good in all places and with all people. Fostering Christian values in his family was a priority for him. He loved keeping the family engaged with Christ Fellowship Church in Palm Beach Gardens, attending service and fun youth groups weekly.

Chris also enjoyed watching his beloved Georgia Tech and Atlanta Braves and never missed the opportunity to insert a dad joke in the mix. And through it all Chris remained steadfast, offering unwavering support and encouragement to his kids.

Chris was a leader with an incredible work ethic, not only at home but also at the office. His co-workers describe him as kind and caring, many are devastated and brokenhearted by his passing. He was always on “Go!!!” mode and aiming to make a difference. As the Chief Lending Officer at Guardians Credit Union, he worked long days during COVID developing, from scratch, the SBA/PPP loans to help suffering businesses. This was ground-breaking for credit unions in the area. But he wasn’t all business. His sense of humor carried over into work. No matter the day, he loved greeting people with his “Happy Friday!”. He loved the responses from “Wait, what day is this?” to “Ugh, it’s only Monday!!”. Throughout his career, he was an inspiration to all who knew him.

Chris and Jenny are irreplaceable, your support during this surreal tragedy is truly appreciated.

Services will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at 10:00 am at Christ Fellowship at Trinity in Palm Beach Gardens.
