Support for the DiMeo family

The fire on Covert Avenue September 27th affected multiple businesses, but the DiMeo family, who live directly next door to Park Place where the fire originated, also suffered consequences. In an effort to protect their home from flying embers, the fire departments had to douse the DiMeo home with water to prevent spread. In addition, the smoke that could be seen for blocks permeated their home. As a result, Jessica, John and Jack have had to leave their house while professionals come in and assess and reconstruct. Jack and Jessica are staying with a family friend and John is staying with a family close to school. The family is separated.
This hardship is just compounding an already difficult situation. Jessica was employed with the American Heart Association for 16 years. However, because of the pandemic, she has since lost her job.
The DiMeo family has been a part of the Floral Park community all of their lives, being born and raised here. They know they can count on this community during their time of need.
Please consider donating any way that you can. And if you have knowledge of a rental, please be sure to reach out to the family.
