Support for the family of Christine & Spencer Lane
Donation protected
On January 29, the tragic plane crash in DC took the lives of Christine and Spencer Lane.
We are a group of adoptive families scattered throughout the U.S. and Canada who met Christine so many years ago when our tight knit community supported each other through the very long and difficult adoption process. Christine was a beloved member of our community―we knew her to be incredibly kind, caring, and generous with her time and endless talent. We were awed by her beautiful photography, watched her quilts come to life, and we still cook the recipes she thoughtfully shared, as well as cherish the cards and artwork she designed for us. We helped welcome Spencer and his brother Milo into the Lane family and watched them grow up. We were so excited to cheer Spencer on through his many endeavors, most recently and notably, figure skating.
Now, as we process this horrific loss, we want to do what we can to support her husband, Doug, and younger son, Milo. Please join us in community to make a positive impact on the Lane family during this difficult time.
As we remember Christine and Spencer, we lean on and find comfort in her husband Doug’s beautiful tribute to them:
“Our family is devastated by the loss of Christine and Spencer. Christine exuded creativity throughout her life, using her formal graphic design training as a jumping-off point for seemingly endless creative pursuits across areas such as photography, quilting, knitting, and more. She brought even greater passion to her role as a mother to Spencer and his brother Milo. She was also a lover of animals, and we lost track of how many dogs she helped place in loving adoptive homes.
Spencer can only be described as a force of nature. You simply could not stop him if he decided he wanted to do something. There is no better example of this than his remarkable skating journey, which we are heartbroken to see end too soon. He truly loved it, and his ascent from basic Learn to Skate classes to U.S. Figure Skating’s National Development Team in just a few short years was unprecedented. We are so grateful that his last week was filled with joy and surrounded by his beloved Skating Club of Boston and the U.S. Figure Skating family.”
Every donation made will go directly to Doug and Milo to support with any needs that arise as they navigate through this devastating loss. Any and all contributions are greatly appreciated as we come together to surround the family with love and care.
